PRO - CW - CONTEST

Organized by PRO-CW-CLUB International, Romania
Objective To contact in CW as many ham radio stations including PRO-CW-CLUB members; the chance to obtain the awards issued by our club. The 7MHz traffice would help to protect our ham radio band. Our contest promotes the ham radio skills and talent and NOT computers (software) performances.
Date Yearly first Saturday and Sunday of October. (October 1 and 2, 2005)
Time/Periods: Two periods: Saturday 1600-1800 UTC and Sunday 0600-0800 UTC. A QSO with the same station may be repeated during the second period.
Band 7MHz, recommended frequency 7005kHz and up

    Exchanges RST + serial number (5990001). PRO-CW members trasmit RST + PRO (599PRO)
    Score Each QSO values 2 points for QSOs beween stations located on same continent, 4 points for QSOs beween stations located on different continents. Each QSO with PRO-CW members has a double value (4 and 8 points respectively). Each confirmed QTC sent or received values 1 point
    QTC traffic Additional points can be achieved using QTC traffic, which consists of time/call/serial number report, sent by PRO-CW to non-members. I.e. 0612/YO6ZZZ/025 or 0630/YO6OZZZ/PRO. Only a maximum of 3 reported QTXs are premitted each period to the same station. A record of all QTCs sent is required. i.e. QTC 3/2 is QTC #3 and has 2 QSO reported (additional 2 points).
    Multiplier All countries worked according to DXCC + WAE and all YO districts worked (YO2, YO3, YO4 etc)
    Final score The sum of point (period 1 + period 2) multiplied by the sum of multipliers (period 1 + period 2) reported QTXs are premitted each period to the same station. A record of all QTCs sent is required. I.e. QTC 3/2 is QTC #3 and has 2 QSO reported (additional 2 points).
    Awards Top three participants of each class will be awarded if there are more or equal than 10 participants listed in that class. Top one will be awarded if there are less than 10 participants listed in that class. More awards will be considered by contest committee if necessary
    Permissions Using any classic keying system like buzz-bugs, vibroplexes, el-keys and classic memory el-keyers, the final score will be multiplied by 1. Using classic hand (straight) keys, the final score will be multiplied by 1.2. Participans must specify the keying system used in the summary sheet.
    Penalties In case of keyboards and computers usage, the final score will be multiplied by 0.75. Permission to use computer is granted only post-contest to write the log (as typewritter) or to send the log via E-mail

  • Violation of any contest rules
  • duplicate QSOs of 2% or more
  • illegible logs
  • Results The final results and the Club award program will be published by "The Chirpers Bulletin" and "Radiocomunicatii si Radioamatorism" (Romanian Amateur Radio Federation official magazine). The score will be published by PRO-CW-CLUB web site as well. http://procwclub.yo9cfr.ro
